Easter is an important time in the Christian calendar depicting the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. The four day break gathers together the rituals and customs of the Easter story in churches around the world.
Easter break gives time for hordes of people to pack their cars, caravans and head to their favourite holiday place spending their time relaxing. Many choose to stay home doing long awaited maintenance, painting or having family time together.
Easter is a special time for me I stay at home and follow the rituals and custom of our church services. Each day has a different meaning with different emotions and motivation.
Easter Sunday creates a lighter atmosphere with the celebration of the age old custom of the giving Easter eggs and the serving of hot cross buns. It also is a great time for picnics and outdoor activities especially with children hunting for hidden eggs.
Monday sees the lines of cars winding slowly home in heavy traffic hopefully having enjoyed the break away but perhaps a little weary.
