Joy to the World

Mary road on a donkey

Joseph walked beside

A baby due to be born

Inconspicuous in a crowd

No favours done for them

Handling each problem as it came

A stable for the birth place

A king was born

Placed in a manger for a bed

An event that was to change the world

For years to come

At Christmas this is celebrated in churches

In street parades and in homes

We sing carols of wise men and shepherds

Giving gifts, following bright stars in the sky

Our joy and gratitude is in raised voices as we sing our favourite carols

We respect others celebrating in their believes

Christmas is a time for harmony

Joy is in the hearts of families and friends

Blessed by our faith as we celebrate the event

Good Christians all, rejoice with heart and soul and voice

4th Century German carol
